1. Question: Why is it when you try to spend time with your girlfriend her friends start to hate you?

Male. 7th grade.

Dear Friend,

Well, it sounds like they just want to spend time with her too. Maybe they don't understand why she won't hang out with them, they just aren't used to not having her around. You should try to talk it out with her friends let them know that even though she is their friend she is also your girlfriend and that they need to understand that you don't mean to take up all her time you just want to spend time with someone you care about. If that doesn't work then tell your girlfriend about it , if her friends won't listen to you maybe they will listen to her.

2. Question: Why is it when new kids come to school everyone starts to turn on you? Because this is what is happening to me. Should I be losing trust in that friend?

Female. 6th grade

Dear Friend,

Try making a bigger effort in being her friend maybe she doesn't realize what she is doing. She might see it as just being friendly to the new girl and trying to make her feel welcomed if this is the situation just befriend the new girl too, who knows you might get along. Just remember even though she might not be acting like the greatest friend at the moment she was your best friend at some point so just bear with it for a while and see how it all turns out but even if it never goes back to how it used to be you will know you did all you could to stay friends.

3. Question:What do i do if all my friends are skinny and flaunt it in front of me just to make me feel bad?

Female 8th Grade

Dear Friend,

It should not make you feel bad at all you just need to be confident with yourself, if you think they are making you feel insecure on purpose then maybe you should not be friends with them. No one should make you feel bad about yourself especially the people you consider your friends. Once you learn to love yourself no one will be able to put you down just because of your appearance.

INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES

INSPIRATIONAL PERSON

OF THE MONTH

You might know her as Hermione Granger from Harry Potter but Emma Watson is so much more. She is a gorgeous feminist power house who has brought gender equality to light with a very special campaign HeForShe. “The campaign HeForShe is a solidarity movement for gender equality that brings together one half of humanity in support of the other half of humanity, for the benefit of all.” –HeForShe. Not only is Emma in support of equality for women but she’s also into having every one of them feel empowered. She believes that women play a major role in society and should never doubt themselves, “I want to be the person who feels great in her body and can say that she loves it and doesn’t want to change anything.”

“I find the whole concept about being “sexy” embarrassing and confusing. If I do an interview with photographs people desperately want to change me –dye my hair blonder, pluck my eyebrows, give me a fringe. Then theres the choice of clothes. I know everyone wants to picture me in a mini-skirt. But that’s not me. I feel uncomfortable. I’d never go out in a mini-skirt. It has nothing to do with protecting my Hermione image. I wouldn’t do that. Personally, I don’t think it’s even sexy. What’s sexy about saying, “I’m here with my boobs out and a short skirt, have a look at everything I’ve got?” My idea of sexy is less is more. The less you reveal the more people can wonder.” –Emma Watson

ARIES. (March 20 - April 19): You know how sometimes you're all about independence? Now you're all about connections. Feel the love. Use this energy while you've got it, because this weekend, your best romantic approach is a wait-and-see one.

TAURUS. (April 20 - May 20): If you don't have a romantic mentor -- someone whose relationship you admire and whose advice you can count on -- you might just find one as the week gets going.

GEMINI. (May 21 - June 20): Something very different may come along. This thing (or is it a person?) could challenge even your incredibly flexible heart and mind -- but there's much to be gained from making the stretch, taking the leap, letting the universe show you something.

CANCER. (June 21 - July 21): You have a new attitude about past events, and it's making everything fresh and shiny from where you stand. Isn't it amazing what time can do when you let it?

LEO. (July 22 - Aug. 22): Love's in large part about listening, and that's your challenge as the week gets going -- can you hush up and hear what they're saying? A certain situation needs a little time to evolve. Your instinct may be to reach out and latch on, but let them come to you.

VIRGO. (Aug. 23 - Sept. 22): The urge to gossip might be irresistible, but it's truly and honestly not. Be strong! Although it may seem harmless, gossiping can hurt more than you know.

LIBRA. (Sept. 23 - Oct. 22): Whoa! Don't go around projecting your own feelings onto your classmates or friends. Take a step back and figure out what your own emotions are and where they belong

SCORPIO. (Oct. 23 - Nov. 21): Work's favored as the week gets going, but you're also doing well interpersonally -- clicking with people old and new and knowing just what to say. Even if you're busy, reach out by sending short and sweet messages. The coupled up may encounter a little tension, but don't be too quick to point that finger in your sweetie's direction.

SAGITTARIUS. (Nov. 22 - Dec. 20): Everyone said you were foolish to believe that you still stood a chance, but hold on because in nine days you'll see that you were right.

CAPRICORN. (Dec. 21 - Jan. 19): Avoiding a confrontation makes matters worse. But who says things have to get nasty? Taking responsibility for your part in the matter forces the other party to do the same.

AQUARIUS. (Jan. 20 - Feb. 17): You discover that you and a friend were being manipulated by a third party. Heaven help the person who pitted you against each other.

PISCES. (Feb. 18 - March 19): Ask around about matters of the heart as the week gets going -- seek advice, love stories, whatever. At the least, you'll get a different outlook or two, and you just might hear something that really resonates with you.

5. Question: I have noticed my best friend has not been making time for me and she is always a lot of her time with other people. I completely understand that she has other friends. Why am I feeling  so left out?

Female. 6th grade.

Dear Friend,

You are probably feeling neglected by your best friend, however this is only natural. I suggest you go to her when she is alone, and away from her ex-boyfriend, and tell her how you feel. She, being your best friend, will understand your feelings. Tell her you don't want her to stop talking to her other friends, but that you two need to spend more quality time together. I suggest having a sleepover to bring that best friend bond back. Your feelings are nothing to worry about, all spectacular and incredible friendships go through their rough patches, but working through it makes it all worthwhile.
